Vern Baca brings 19 years of wrestling
experience to Gumm Mixed Martial Arts & Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu. He has had success at all levels of wrestling and
has extensive experience in Freestyle, Greco Roman, and
Collegiate styles. He has medaled in several Armature Athletic
Union (AAU) National Wrestling Tournaments in all three styles
Vern attended Arvada West High School where he was a 3-Time
State Tournament qualifier. As a senior, he compiled a perfect
35-0 season and captured a State Championship. Vern was named
to the All-Colorado
|
|
Wrestling Team and was selected to compete
in the All-State Games. After high school, Vern attended the
Colorado School of Mines on a wrestling scholarship. Vern was a varsity wrestler, earning academic All-Conference Honors. |
|
|
On the mat he gained invaluable wrestling
techniques and experience from world class coaches. Throughout
his career, Vern has had the privilege of wrestling with some
of the best wrestlers in the world. He was invited to wrestle
at the U.S. Olympic Training Center where he was fortunate to
learn from some of the nation’s top wrestlers.Vern has
been training at Gumm Mixed Martial Arts & Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu since 2003 and has had numerous Mixed Martial Arts
(MMA) fights. He is a vital training partner for Brad Gumm and
has incorporated Brad’s vast Mixed

Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
knowledge with a strong wrestling background to achieve success
in the ring. Vern teaches the most effective wrestling
techniques as they relate to MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. You
can see Vern compete in a variety of local shows including
the Kickdown Classic and the Ring of Fire. |
